The main attribute of a border rug is the simplicity of the pattern itself. Rugs with a border are an excellent addition to any room because they provide a sense of closure to the space without looking too plain. Some border rugs have a texture, or have a small repeating pattern such as a trellis or a pindot. Others have a simple vine around the border of the rug, or even a thick border with mini borders on either side to accentuate the colors used. In most border rugs the center or field is completely solid. Border Rugs can be made of any material or construction and work well in settings where there are many competing fabrics.
