Machine Made Rugs

Machine Made Rugs are rugs that have been designed to replicate hand knotted rugs, and are woven by a machine to make them more affordable.  Machines can make rugs of any material or color, but are somewhat limited in the amount of colors used and thickness of pile.  Machine made rugs tend to be less than 3/8″ thick, and use a maximum of 12 colors, with most using less than 8 colors in each rug.  Machine made rugs have many pros and cons.  On the positive side machine made rugs are less expensive.  Because these rugs are made by a machine, each rug is identical to the others, to the romance of the rug being unique os lost.  Hand knotted rugs will be more costly, yet they do increase in value over time and are unique in every way.  In summary, Machine Made Rugs are an excellent way to decorate a room affordably with minimal cost.
