Tibetan Rugs

Tibetan Rugs are a unique style of rugs known for their specialized weave and texture.  Most Tibetan rugs are actually made in Nepal by Tibetan refugees.  Hand knotted Tibetan rugs come in different qualities based on the weave and the quality of the wool.   Usually the knot count ranges from a 60 Knot Weave to a 150 Knot Weave, with the latter being made with a wool and silk combination in some cases.  The finer woven Tibetan Rugs will be thinner and have more definition in pattern.  The style of a Tibetan can be Traditional or Contemporary, but mostly they are simplistic and artistic in nature.  Many Tibetan Rugs will have asymmetrical designs and tend to use just a few colors.  These rugs are some of the most coveted in the world due to the unique weave and quality.
